About this event

For the inaugural Sydney meetup, we'll be hearing from Clinton Gormley (@clintongormley), Elasticsearch core developer, and Sharif Olorin, Developer at Anchor Systems.

For the last year Clint has been a full time Elasticsearch employee in charge of (amongst other things) "keep[ing] elasticsearch honest", training & evangelising Elasticsearch while developing the Elasticsearch Perl libraries.

Clint will be telling us all about the exciting new features in the upcoming version 1.0 of Elasticsearch as well as taking questions and answers.

Sharif will be covering "Beyond traffic lights: lessons in monitoring large (and small) Elasticsearch clusters for fun, profit and not getting woken up at 3am."

We'll have pizza and beer for all our attendees, so come hungry for noms and knowledge!

Many thanks to Atlassian for hosting us and for sponsoring the refreshments.

Agenda:

6:30 PM: Doors open, refreshments served

7:00 PM: Presentations and Q&A. Please be aware that due to security restrictions, the doors will close at this time and there will be no more admittance.

8:00 PM: Networking

8:30 PM: Head homewards

Entry:

Access to the Atlassian offices are via Wynyard St, just off George St. There are a set of doors leading into the ground floor in the middle of the building and someone from Atlassian will be letting people up to the meeting room.
