About this event

G'Day Everyone!

As promised, here is the details for the next event in a few weeks.

Due to the amount of awesome people that showed up last year, we have had to move the event to a new location! Our gracious hosts for this month are Optiver, located in the middle of the Sydney CBD at 39 Hunter Street and they'll be providing us with some awesome food and drinks.

We also have some fantastic speakers lined up.

Anouar Bannouri, a trading systems specialist from Optiver who's been in the industry since 2004, will tell us about their Journey from Nothing to Now; Using Elastic as a monitoring tool for trading systems, and network metadata from the AsiaPac region.

Saurabh Bhatia (@_wub) has been developing software for over 10 years now. Working primarily in Ruby and Rails he is a self-confessed fan of the NoSQL movement. He is currently writing a book on Elastic on Rails and loves to talk at conferences,  write articles and stay close to the community.

His talk takes you through the basics of location-based search using Elastic. It broadly covers the following areas; structuring and indexing your location based data, structuring queries based on location data, shape-based search, polygon-based search, integrating with Google API and integrating with Here Maps.

RSVPs are now full and have been closed. If you do not intend on coming along, please update your RSVP to let other community members take your place!

We look forward to seeing you there!

Cheers,
Mark and the Elastic AU Team
