Talk Abstract: Nama Illo - Education Architect at Elastic

There are moving parts to set up an Elasticsearch index to use for time-series data. This intro-level discussion is aimed at helping simplify and explain what goes into setting up an Ingest Pipeline to control what is indexed, an Index Lifecycle Policy to manage storage and then configuring an Index Template to use them. This presentation also covers basic concepts for Rollover Aliases, Data Streams, Component Templates, naming conventions, and other topics included in the configuration of an Index. The presentation includes a demo of creating one Index Template to use a Rollover Alias and one to use a Data Stream.
