Oct 16, 2019, 4:30 – 7:00 PM

About this event

The Munich Search Meetup is all about search technologies. This is the 31st meetup, fifth one in 2019! This is one day after the Elastic{ON} Tour stop in Munich, and will be at the same location, the Hilton Hotel at the Tucherpark, the meeting room you need to find is named "Van Gogh". As there will be post event trainings, we decided, that is an excellent time to meetup and let the Elastic trainers talk a little longer that day!

19:15 - 19:30 Break

Note: This time we will start the talks half an hour earlier than usual due to some time restrictions with the location, so please make sure you are on time to not miss the action!

Made to Measure: Ranking Evaluation using Elasticsearch

The evaluation of search ranking results is a complicated task, but the new Elasticsearch Ranking Evaluation API tries to make it easier to measure well-known information retrieval metrics. This helps to make better relevance tuning decisions and allows to evaluate and optimize query templates over a wider range of user needs. There will be a short introduction into ranking evaluation followed by a demo of the API.

Elastic SIEM

In this talk, we will introduce Elastic SIEM which introduces a new security analytics solution for the Elastic Stack which offers security practitioners features such as new data integrations, intuitive ways to triage events, network-related security event analysis, interactive and composable timeline event viewers for collaborative threat hunting. Other related topics in this talk will include Elastic Common Schema (ECS) for data normalisation and how SIEM integrates with other components of the Elastic Stack such as Machine Learning.
