Join us to hear from two local groups: BYU and our meetup hosts, Xactware.

John SutherlandLane Broadbent, and Hans Farnbach from BYU will give a brief background on what got them involved with the ELK stack, how they have implemented it, some of unique things they have done, and some of the benefits they have seen from using it. 

John Sutherland has spent over 30 years in technology and is currently an Infrastructure Architect in the BYU Office of Information Technology. His work currently focuses on gaining business advantage from Information Technology and on improving the resilience of IT ecosystems. 

Jonathan Bejarano from Xactware will present SOLR Eclipsed - Evaluating Elastic for Search

After launching XactPRM with SOLR as our site’s search engine, we recount our ongoing adventure into a better user experience through machine learning and Elasticsearch.

Jonathan Bejarano develops Web and Mobile applications for Xactware. He is continually strives to apply the latest new technologies into solutions for customers to improve their experiences and improve their bottom lines. He was previously a TA for CS 330 Computer Languages and Operating Systems CS 345 at BYU Provo and currently attends the University of Utah On-line MBA program.
