Save the date for our second meetup for the Elastic Ottawa user group! Thank you to Interset for hosting us! The agenda for the evening includes: 6:00 pm - Doors open. Food & beverages will be provided. 6:30 pm - Big Data Visualization using Elasticsearch 8:00 pm - We'll wrap things up Big Data Visualization using Elasticsearch Interset helps customers identify and contain insider threats through innovative use of unsupervised machine learning to detect internal anomalous behavior. Interset offers a dashboard which includes a number of visualizations that help customers quickly find and investigate areas of risk. Those visualizations are driven by an api that relies on Elasticsearch to execute on-the-fly analysis of the data. In this talk, Emilie and Mike will explore several of those visualizations and take a deep dive into the Elasticsearch queries and aggregations that back them. They will explain how they use Elasticsearch to build a matrix visualization of anomalous behaviors, calculate a risk trend line across ad-hoc populations and combine similar anomalies. Emilie Lavigne is a developer and technical lead at Interset. She has been developing distributed systems solutions at Interset and at previous start-ups for a number of years. Elasticsearch has been a tool in her belt since version 0.20. Mike Cyze has been writing code and creating user interfaces professionally for over a quarter century. In that time he has worked for big name corporations in a variety of roles, but abandoned that world to join Interset as a Product Designer, where he tackles the challenges of Big Data UX & Visualization Directions to the space: • Free surface parking is available in front of the building • Once you walk through the two front doors, walk straight down the hallway and you’ll see the elevators on the left • Take one of the elevators to the 5th floor • When you exit the elevator on the 5th floor turn left and you’ll see our office door at the end of the hallway. You'll see us there!
