5:00 AM	Building your own search engine by Ashish Tiwari	Do you still use SQL queries to search? Are your users frustrated with your site search? Is your average response time greater than half a second with only a few million documents? Do you need 3 days to produce statistics on your data? Do you dream of offering a “google search” on your data? Elasticsearch can (probably!) help. It’s an open source distributed search and analytics engine based on Apache Lucene. It’s been used by anyone from small NGOs to supermarkets, NASA and governments for user-facing search and internal data analysis. This talk will introduce you to Elasticsearch in a conceptual and hands-on, practical way. We will talk about clusters, documents, indices, types, shards, and nodes. But we will also see each of these concepts in action via live demos. We’ll feed actual data into Elasticsearch and retrieve it. At the end of this talk you will be comfortable spinning up your very own Elasticsearch service for your very own application! The talk is language-agnostic, you can start with Elasticsearch by just making JSON requests. Also we will see Elastic App Search which is the product that provides Search as a Service, on top of Elasticsearch. Here you just dump your data and tune your search functionality from app search without knowing elasticsearch.
5:45 AM	Capabilities of Elastic Observability for Modern Kubernetes workloads by Ishaq Shaikh	In modern SRE & DevOps culture Observability towards application infrastructure & within application becomes more crucial & important. With kubernetes becoming de-facto orchestration for containerized application, it becomes difficult to select which toolstack to go ahead with. This talk will provide an overview of elastic observability for Kubernetes applications. It will cover topics such as the benefits of observability, setting up observability for Kubernetes applications, and best practices for monitoring and debugging Kubernetes applications. Additionally, the talk will discuss common challenges faced when monitoring and debugging Kubernetes applications and how to overcome these challenges with demonstration at the end.
6:30 AM	Robust Elastic Cloud Security with Google Cloud Private Service Connect and RBAC by Ayushi Shekhar	When working with elastic cloud environments, private service connections are a preferred choice over public connections for several reasons. Private service connections provide an additional layer of security by allowing services to communicate over a private network that is isolated from the public internet. This reduces the risk of unauthorized access or data breaches that can occur when using public connections. Public connections can suffer from network congestion and latency, resulting in slower communication and decreased performance. With private connections, data is transmitted over a dedicated network that is not shared with other users, leading to faster and more efficient communication between services. In addition to this, we will also talk about the RBAC feature of elastic search as an enhanced security measure.
