Centralized Logging Workshop

Feb 12, 2018, 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM

About this event

It took us a while but we are back with another night class on centralized logging. If you couldn't make it last time or you want a refresher on what we did this is an option for you! You are you looking for a better way to analyze your logfiles? Instead of going to your machines through ssh and grep the files you can also use the elastic stack for centralized logging. In this night class we will show you how the elastic stack works and how you can use it to analyze logfiles. To save some time bring your laptop with the following components installed (you should be able to access both in your browser):

• elasticsearch (https://www.elastic.co/downloads/elasticsearch)
• kibana (https://www.elastic.co/downloads/kibana)

And download the those components for your environment:

• Filebeat (https://www.elastic.co/downloads/beats/filebeat)
• Logstash (https://www.elastic.co/downloads/logstash)

Windows, Linux and Mac should all work but we can best help with issues on Linux.

Thanks to Pivotal for providing the space and Zenika for sponsoring Pizza!
