We've just added the venue for the Meetup on the 26th of July, which will be held in the Auditorium at Multichoice City, 114 Bram Fischer Drive, Randburg.
We're very excited to be hosting the Elastic Meetup, and we have two speakers lined up for the event:
• Chris de Kock (Multichoice) - "Elastic at DStv Digital Media".
This session will be presented by Chris de Kock who is a Senior Solutions Architect at DStv Digital Media and a member of the Elastic project team. In this session Chris will give us some insight on how DStv Digital Media utilizes Elastic(Search) for Logging, Search and Recommendations.
• Jakob Reiter (Elastic) - "Small, Medium, or Large: Evolve Your Elastic Stack to Fit"
The few thousands operations per second indexing requirement has changed to few millions; the single use case has grown to multiple; the one user group has become tens of user groups. In this talk, Jakob will take you through the Elastic Stack topologies from small to large to meet your evolving use case(s). He will examine deployment patterns for projects of various sizes, using Beats, Elasticsearch, Kibana, Logstash, X-Pack, and others.
Jakob is a Support Engineer at Elastic, originally from Munich, but currently based out of Amsterdam. When not doing support, he likes to help out with training.Prior to joining Elastic he worked as SysAdmin and as Team-lead for the Systems & Support department of an Online Marketing Agency. When not working, he likes to fiddle around with all things GNU/Linux, going out with Friends or just watch a good movie/show.
Refreshments and snacks will be available at the Meetup.
Please RSVP early as there is limited seating available at the venue. Should we exceed the the capacity of the venue, we will prioritise seats for early registrants.
