We are excited to announce that Elastic is coming to town in July and will be presenting at the next Meetup.

The Meetup will be on the 12th of July at 18:00, and will be hosted in the auditorium at Discovery (1 Discovery Place, Sandhurst, Sandton).

Our first speaker will be Alan Hardy from Elastic, followed by Mark Billett & Doug Moll from Knowledge Focus.

Session 1: Elastic Stack 6.3.0 Overview

Elastic Stack 6.3.0 has been released, meaning many of the top announcement from ElasticON 2018 have arrived. In this talk we will step through the key features: Elasticsearch SQL, Rollups, Index Management UI, Input Controls, and latest changes in Beats and Logstash. Including a demo of the latest ML features in the context of a real-life example.

Alan is a Solution Architect with Elastic, the company behind Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana and Beats. He helps customers architect solutions using the Elastic Stack for the past 4 years. He is based in London and covers all industries.

Session 2: Introducting Elastic Cloud Enterprise (ECE)

In this session Doug will introduce you to ECE after which Mark will deploy ECE and show us how it all fits together and helps orchestrate the deployment, management and scaling of your Elasticsearch clusters.

Mark Billett is a senior Elasticsearch consultant who works at Knowledge Focus and has been deploying varying search project use cases for the last 11 years.

Doug Moll is the Director of Solution Delivery at Knowledge Focus and over the last 15 years has been involved with the deployment of large search based projects at both the technical and management level.
