Dynamically Scale NGINX in Your Containerized Environment.

This presentation by Rick Nelson (Head of Pre-sales at NGINX) will demo NGINX Plus and Docker automatically scaling an application (Elasticsearch) based on system load. It will show you how you can use the NGINX Plus status API and the upstream configuration API together to add and remove application containers on-the-fly in response in response to the amount of incoming traffic.

The Fresh New Elasticsearch 2.0

Shaunak Kashyap, Developer Advocate at Elastic (the makers of Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, and Beats), will update us on the fresh new Elasticsearch! In this talk we will walk through new features, breaking changes and migration strategy for this major release.

Optimizing expensive query performance with Nginx as reverse caching proxy.

Mik Kocikowski will show how a proxy - api - proxy - elastic sandwich can be used to optimize performance of expensive analytic queries. Details of Nginx configuration will be discussed. All examples will be taken from uspto.io, which is a testbed for experimenting with Elasticsearch analytic performance. 

Don't go the hard way with containers! 

After building out the DevOps culture at Xively, speaker Ilya Dmitrichenko (@errordeveloper) has shifted down the stack and now enjoys working on open-source software at Weaveworks. 

If you chose to use Docker, getting up and running with just your own app can get quite complex, and if you wish to use various other pieces, e.g. Elasticsearch and NGINX, it will only get more complicated.  In this talk Ilya from Weaveworks will demostrate how to avoid the maze of container networking and make connecting the pieces very simple.
