About this event

At this months event we have teamed up with Redis Meetup group to bring you two talks one related to Elastic and one Related to Redis

Talk1:
Evolving Data Analysis with Elastic Machine Learning and Data Frames by Tarik Bennett

Summary

Version 7.3 of the Elastic Stack introduced a powerful new feature — continuous index transforms! Transforms let you convert existing Elasticsearch indices into new summarized secondary indices, which opens doors to new insights and analytics. In this talk, we'll discuss how Elastic helps you evolve your analysis with both anomaly detection and creating indices that summarize behavior by entity.

Bio

Tarik Bennett is a Senior Solutions Architect at Elastic. He joined Elastic as part of the Swiftype team in 2017 where he focused on our Search Solutions. Tarik has a passion for search in all its various forms. From building simple web interfaces to applications in deep learning. He has a diverse background in both client-facing and technical roles. He holds a B.S. in Neurobiology from University of California, Davis.

Talk2:
Introduction to RediSearch by Kyle Davis

Summary

RediSearch is a Full-Text and Secondary Index engine running as a module inside of Redis. It has advanced features, like exact phrase matching and numeric filtering for text queries, that are not possible or efficient with traditional Redis search approaches. It also features aggregations, which is an incredibly powerful feature for a real-time search. Aggregations allow for data to not only be queried, but summarized mathematically to gain analytical insight. In this talk, Kyle Davis will give a brief crash course in RediSearch query and aggregations as well as several demonstrations.

Bio

Kyle Davis is a full-stack architect and Head of Developer Advocacy at Redis Labs. He has written extensively on Node.js and Redis, including his 33 chapter Node Redis series of blog posts here: https://medium.com/@stockholmux/the-node-redis-series-e812085c917f. Kyle holds a BS from University of Southern Indiana and a Masters of Science from the University of Central Missouri.
