This will be a special meetup, Elastic LA will be holding our first meetup in Orange County at Carrington Mortgage Holding.  

We have three excellent talks lined up for this meetup. Two talks from Carrington about how Elasticsearch helps Carrington and recently launched CarringtonConnects.com.  The third talk will be about Elastic Stack and log aggregation at Cylance.

NOTE: The meetup will have special security, you will need to be on the RSVP list and will need to have a Photo ID. More details to come as we get closer to the meetup date.

Carrington is located in Orange County adjacent to the Honda Center Anaheim, 1600 South Douglass Road, Anaheim, CA. There is ample parking available at the entrance and around the building.

Speaker Bio: Ryan Dranginis 

Ryan currently serves as Vice President of Carrington Mortgage Holdings Business Technology Solutions. In this role he leads the product team responsible for Carrington Connects. Before joining Carrington he was the Chief Operating Officer for GridMeNow, a technology platform designed to increase situational awareness being used by multiple government agencies and fortune 500 companies.  Mr. Dranginis was a key player at the Rubicon Project, a global advertising platform where he led sales efforts with demand partners and managed inventory for top tier web publishers.

Ryan is a Marine who served as company commander during two successful combat tours in Iraq. He is a graduate of the United Stated Naval Academy where he was a four-year varsity athlete.  He is an entrepreneur who founded a digital agency and successfully launched Classy.org, a SAAS platform currently being used by thousands of non-profits and Ruckpack.com, a nutrition solution featured on Shark Tank. Ryan currently lives in Encinitas with his growing family. He enjoys being outside, triathlons, and building great products. 

Talk #2: How Elasticsearch helps Carrington 

Speaker Bio: Brian Ruzycki 

Brian serves as Senior Vice President of Carrington Mortgage Holdings.  In this role he leads Carrington’s Software Development, Data Architecture and Business Intelligence  departments within the Information Technology group.  Before joining Carrington, Mr. Ruzycki served as the Vice President of Software Development for Real Estate Digital/Xome overseeing software development and QA for the real estate technology business.

Brian is a native of New Jersey who migrated to California in the late 90’s.  He is a graduate from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ.  His passion for technology, beginning in elementary school, has led to a successful career launching several large SaaS products and web-based platforms.  He’s an avid snowboarder, passionate scuba diver and loves being a resident of southern California.

Talk #3: Log Aggregation @ Cylance

Talk Abstract:

How we have done it, what we are doing, and what we’re planning to do…..how we’re aggregating logs (application logs, event logs, syslogs) from our various systems (a mix of linux and windows) into Elasticsearch… I’ll dive into our use case for log aggregation how I’ve setup the ELK stack, how data flows in… etc….  also how we maintain ES indexes, and what I plan to do in the near future.

Speaker Bio: Victor Chan

Victor has been working as a Devops Engineer for Cylance for the past year.  Before that, he was a Devops Engineer for Costar group.  his background is from a systems admin/operations background, and always a student of IT.
