Talk Abstract:
Ever wanted to extend Elasticsearch's capabilities? Do you sit at home at night wanting to write code to make Elasticsearch better? This talk will present a quick introduction on all the concepts needed to build your own plugins for Elasticsearch. The talk will be code heavy and will talk about Java, Gradle builds, and APIs. Topics that will not be discussed are shards, indices, search relevancy, Logstash, the Olympics, types, X-Pack, and the meaning of life (OK, maybe a little bit).

Speaker Bio:
Ivan Brusic (https://www.linkedin.com/in/brusic/) is a search engineer and a long-time Elasticsearch user. First started using Elasticsearch with version 0.12 and has been writing plugins and committing to the core product since then. He was also one of the reviewers for the Elasticsearch Definitive Guide. https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/guide/2.x/_acknowledgments.html
