The Elasticsearch Boston meetup group is kicking things into gear again after our long summer hiatus. We have two talks and one lightning talk on deck for our next meetup. Pixability is very generously hosting us in their office but space is limited, so please RSVP early: Elasticsearch at EverTrue Presenter: Mark Greene is the Director of Engineering @ EverTrue and was a part of the initial implementation of ES. Mark is also actively involved in the operational optimization of the cluster. Mark will talk about how EverTrue is building & scaling a donor intelligence CRM on top of ElasticSearch to provide real time data point filtering and leveraging ES in an Hadoop environment for offline processing. Elasticsearch data Presenter: Igor Motov, Elasticsearch developer and meetup organizer Igor will talk about files, data structures and their usage in Elasticsearch. Lighning Talk: YouTube Big Data in ElasticSearch Analytics Presenter: Pete Martin is Vice President of Engineering for Pixability, a big data software company that helps major brands dramatically increase YouTube impact on their target audiences. Pete, a technologist at heart with a passion for big data, machine learning and innovative web architectures, has been building scalable web systems and teams at software start-ups for nearly 15 years. Quick presentation on how Pixability crawls YouTube, harvests its Big Data into the ES cluster, performs complex analytics (not possible with other storage / analytics systems) and how we successfully upgraded from 0.9 to 1.2 in August. As always, food and refreshments will be provided before the talks begin to allow for some time to network and socialize.
