Bhaskar Karambelkar is a Security Data Scientist and Tech Lead at Verizon. His areas of expertise include network & information security, data analysis and search, and he likes to code in Perl, Python, Scala, Java, and R. He has been a happy Elasticsearch user and advocate since 2012.

"Scaling Elasticsearch in a Production System"

In this talk, Bhaskhar will explore the story of Verizon's use of Elasticsearch. First deployed as a proof of concept in mid-2012, Verizon Business moved fully into production in mid-2013. Bhaskhar will take you through this entire history, with a look forward at the next year for Verizon and Elasticsearch.

Among other topics, Bhaskar will discuss lessons learned in the process of scaling Elasticsearch up and out, including corrective actions taken when problems arose. He's also cover the changes required to the underlying system architecture for scaling under steadily increasing load. There will be ample time for Q&A.
