Venue: The Globe Tower, 32nd cor 7th Avenue, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City.
Room: B1- Achieve and Bounce

1) Please bring an ID so you'll be allowed to enter the venue. At the reception, tell them you're attending the Manila Big Data Tech Group meet-up. A sticker will be given to you at the reception area in the ground floor.

2) After getting the sticker, you may take the elevator or use the stairs to go down the Basement.

3) For parking, there are pay paring around the building.

Talk 1:

Speaker: Joseph Paulo Mantuano

Bio:
Joseph handles the full-text search service of The Red Flag Group, and researches on technologies and methodologies for ingesting, processing and enriching large amounts of data. Having background with e-Commerce search applications, financial and banking systems.

Abstract: Joseph will talk about how they are using Kafka and Kafka Connect in one of their projects that crawls websites for news articles.

Talk 2:

Speaker: Mark Teehan

Bio:
In his day-to-day work, Mark engages with customers to evaluate business and technical requirements, helps guide technical teams while conducting POCs and acts as a liaison between customers and the engineering teams in Confluent. Prior to Confluent, Mark lead the HANA proof of concept team in SAP. His first role in Singapore was on the tech team implementing servers, databases, cards and devices for EZ-Link.

Abstract:
Mark will be speaking about the basics of Apache Kafka, data streaming, the core principles of streaming platforms (streams, tables etc.), and how the Elastic stack interacts with Kafka.
