Luckily Docker and Kubernetes provide rich metadata, metrics, and events as things happen. In this talk / demo I will show you how to collect logs and metrics from containers and the Docker / k8s infrastructure, how to keep up with change (without doing any work), and how to visualize logs and metrics together in one place. I will use the Elastic Stack (you probably call it ELK). Specifically I will use Beats (Filebeat, Metricbeat, and Packetbeat) to ship data, Elasticsearch as the search engine, and Kibana for visualization. I will provide all of the configs that I use so that you can reproduce what I show you in Katacoda, GKE, IKE, etc. Talk: How an Enterprise containerized NoSQL using Agile and Docker In this session you will learn from a member of MetLife’s ModSquad innovation team firsthand what challenges MetLife overcame using a NoSQL DB in a Docker environment. You will learn about key decisions impacting orchestration, availability, database replication, and disaster recovery. Additionally, you will understand key differences in classic and swarm mode and how Kubernetes and Docker teaming up will help your Production Design. Note: This session was originally presented at DockerCon and was selected as a repeat session at DockerCon due to its popularity.
