About this event

The evaluation of search ranking results is a complicated task, but the new Elasticsearch Ranking Evaluation API tries to make it easier to measure well-known information retrieval metrics. This helps to make better relevance tuning decisions and allows to evaluate and optimize query templates over a wider range of user needs. There will be a short introduction into ranking evaluation followed by a demo of the API and a Q&A session. The person who will do the Q&A with Daniel from Elastic is called Elvis Saravia. He is also an education engineer at Elastic.

Food and drinks will be served, followed by social mingling for the rest of the evening, and of course, there’ll be some Elastic swag for you! The entire event is free and open to everyone but don't forget to RSVP as we need to know how many people are coming.

The presentation will be roughly 60 minutes long including breaks, and presented in English.

Doors open 17:00 and the presentation starts 18:00.

Bio
Daniel has been working in the search industry for more than a decade and is a full-time trainer at Elastic. He is based in Zurich and will be in town for the Elasticsearch Engineer 1 and 2 trainings in Oslo.
