About this event

The Search Ecosystem at Grubhub

• Reasons we chose Elasticsearch and how our platform changed with its deployment.

• Deployment, Discovery and Upgrades for Elasticsearch.

• How we tune for production scale.

Presenter: Noel Curtis is Technical Lead on the Search team at Grubhub. He has worked with the team to architect and implement the ecosystem for Restaurant and Diner search. Along the way, the platform has evolved from using Solr to using Elasticsearch. The search platform leverages a distributing pipeline for indexing data alongside a query pipeline that relies on heavy A/B testing for continuous improvement.

About Grubhub: Grubhub is the nation's leading online and mobile food ordering company dedicated to connecting hungry diners with local takeout restaurants. The company’s online and mobile ordering platforms allow diners to order directly from more than 45,000 takeout restaurants in over 1,100 U.S. cities and London. Every order is supported by the company’s 24/7 customer service teams. Grubhub has offices in Chicago, New York and London.

Doors open at 6pm, talks start at 6:30pm.
