About this event

Talk #1: Lessons Learned from an Architecture Unification Initiative
Tony Moulton, Flashpoint

At Flashpoint, we collect, process and deliver a wide range of information for our users. We plan to discuss some of the lessons learned during a year-long initiative to upgrade our platform, simplify the process of finding relevant data, and build a data infrastructure focused on analytics and self-service. We will also share some of the patterns we discovered along the way with the hope that you can leverage them in your own initiatives.

Tony Moulton is the Director of Engineering at Flashpoint. With a background in software engineering, computer security, and threat intelligence, Tony helps lead the Flashpoint Engineering team to deliver tools that provide government agencies and Fortune 500 companies with intelligence derived from the Deep & Dark Web, enabling them to uncover and address both the emerging and imminent threats that face their business.

Tony has been an Elasticsearch user since 0.90.13, only regretting that he hadn’t discovered it sooner. In his spare time, he has been known to leverage his flame effects engineering expertise to create warm spaces in very cold places.

Talk #2: How the Elastic Stack gets you up and running
Jake Vernon, Elastic

Jake Vernon is a Solutions Architect at Elastic. He has a background in Software Engineering and has experience in design, architecture, development, and managerial functions. Using his knowledge from previous ventures, Jake takes pride in meeting and networking with Elastic Stack users to come up with best practice for implementation.
