At Zocdoc, we use Elasticsearch to help patients find the right doctor. We do this by using autocomplete/semantic search to guide patients towards the right specialties/procedures and by displaying the most relevant doctors in the search results. Speakers:
Kunal Mudgal is a Senior Software Engineer at Zocdoc since 2017 working on Search. As part of the search team, Kunal has most recently worked on building out a streaming infrastructure for real-time search data ingestion. Previous projects include building search out of the monolith and various autocomplete improvements including emoji search! In his free time, Kunal enjoys some League of Legends, sports fantasy and finding new podcasts to listen.

Misha Kaletsky joined Zocdoc as a senior software engineer in January 2017, from Skype in London. Since then he's worked on moving their search and autocomplete solutions to microservices powered by elasticsearch. He's also helped build a platform to allow multiple search models to be deployed simultaneously so we can continuously improve our results. Misha loves films and table tennis, but not films about table tennis.
