About this event

Join us for a meetup on Tuesday, February 2 at ObjectRocket in downtown Austin.  Our speaker line-up for the night includes Keith Higbee from Rackspace and Morgan Goeller from Elastic.

Bringing together data from 6 disparate lines of business into a single master search set, a click-stream use case, and a data pipeline use case.

An overview of using Elasticsearch to power a global search product spanning 6 disparate lines of business, a click-stream analysis, and weblog analysis. We’ll also discuss some of what we’re doing here at Rackspace to ease the development and operations of your Elasticsearch backed products.

Keith Higbee

is an engineering manager at Rackspace, leading the ObjectRocket MongoDB and Elasticsearch product teams. He’s a veteran product developer for legal, healthcare, marketing, and technology based companies.

Kibana, Timelion, and Graph API: three ways to explore data within Elasticsearch. We will explore the following use cases:

Kibana: Intuitively discover meaningful insights into your data, in near real- time. In this scenario we will show how you can use the power of search and analytics to deep dive into web logs investigate what's interesting. Oh, yeah, dark themed dashboards are back.

Timelion: Taking time series data in Elasticsearch and Kibana to the next level.

Graph API: Explore interesting connections in your data using Elasticsearch Graph API. This is a pre-release feature where we can use the power of Elasticsearch relevancy to tune into the useful signals of your data.

Morgan Goeller is a Solutions Architect for Elastic, focusing on real-time analytics and visualization. His recent work has been focused on Data Science, Big Data, and NoSQL. He has been in the tech industry for the last 20 years, working with customers in Digital Marketing, Telecommunications, Energy, and Healthcare.
