He likes it there because they let him do whatever he likes and he gets to work from his Chicago home. He has a passion for well-crafted code and he enjoys mentoring younger developers because invariably he learns more from them when doing so.

Rich Claice is a Software Engineer and has solved problems in with software for over 25 yrs. Rich started his career as a software consultant in Austin, TX after graduating from the University of Colorado at Boulder as an Aerospace Engineer. Through software consulting he was introduced to many languages and problems from printer drivers and backup management to casino management and, eventually, commerce search. He is now employed at Dell Technologies and where he is leading multi-national teams to drive change and innovation in the e-commerce search space. Rich currently resides in Cedar Park, TX with his wife and two daughters.

From then on worked with multiple clients across the globe on multiple search engines. Got hit by elastic 0.7 in fall of 2013. Likes elastic for its ease of use, scalability, reliability, index flexibility and a lot more. Currently working at Dell in the online search space with a bunch of great colleagues.
