Detect Advanced Threats with Security Analytics on the Elastic Stack

Extend and accelerate the value you derive from the Elastic Stack by automatically detecting abnormal behavior patterns in your data - thus identifying activity that may be indicative of advanced security threats. Mike Paquette will present several use cases in which Prelert’s machine learning-based behavioral analytics detect elementary attack behaviors relating to advanced threat activity that are otherwise difficult to detect.

Mike Paquette has more than 30 years of technology product development experience, including executive roles with several startups in the areas of consumer apps, mobile app ecosystems, and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM). Previously, he spent more than a decade in executive roles developing and bringing to market network intrusion prevention and DDoS defense solutions at Top Layer Security (acquired by Corero in 2011). He is co-author of a patent on DDoS defense.

Scaling the Content Repository with Elasticsearch

(previously given at the San Francisco Elasticsearch meetup)

This talk will explain how to leverage Elasticsearch capabilities to make your content repository scale to the sky while still relying on standard SQL based technologies and ensuring data security and integrity. The design choices behind this hybrid Elasticsearch / PgSQL architecture will be discussed and the technical integration with Elasticsearch will be demonstrated.

Michael Vachette joined Nuxeo in 2013 as a Solution Architect. More specifically, he helps prospective customers in designing and implementing mission critical applications using the Nuxeo Platform. Prior to joining Nuxeo, Michael worked for over 5 years at Logica as a Business Analyst.
