Talk Abstract: Developing Custom Kibana Plugins

Have you ever wanted to extend Kibana with custom functionality? Or wondered how Kibana's core applications are built? Join us for a crash course in Kibana plugin development. In this session, we'll crack open an editor and write a new Kibana plugin from scratch. In the course of building our plugin, we'll learn about Kibana's architecture, and take a look at some of the platform services that power Kibana's most popular applications. Most of this session will be spent reading and writing code, so a basic understanding of JavaScript is recommended. You'll walk away with the knowledge you need to start writing your own plugins!
