About this event

Please note this is an in-person event in Auckland, New Zealand.

Hi everyone,

Let’s meet again for another GoBridge (in person) event!

This time, we have the chance to welcome Cat and Rashmi, two awesome engineers super motivated to share their knowledge and passion with you.

With them, we will learn to use messaging queues and how to detect security vulnerabilities, all of that with Go of course! ;)

If you’re new to Go, and looking for an opportunity to learn with others and kick start your journey to becoming a fully fledged gopher, you’re at the right place!

Our goal is to empower underrepresented groups in tech and improve diversity and inclusion in the Go community. So if that sounds like something you’re keen to be a part of, you’re more than welcome to join us!

Schedule:

-------------

6:00pm: Welcome!

6:15pm: Message queues in Go with Rashmi Modhwadia: learn to create events using RabbitMQ in Go. Understand context propagation and spin up your own local environment running RabbitMQ.

6:45pm: Pizza break

7:15pm: Introduction to CodeQL in Go with Cat Cura-Salanguit: overview on what CodeQL is, how it works, and how to write and run simple CodeQL queries in Go projects. She will also talk about how CodeQL can be used to scan codebases for security vulnerabilities.

8pm: End of the event

The meetup will be held at Vend (2 Nuffield Street, Newmarket, Auckland 1023 - opposite the Newmarket Train Station) on Thursday the 17th of June from 6PM to 8PM.
